Zeyad Masroor Khan

In this memoir, the author recounts growing up in Upar Kot, a Muslim ghetto in Aligarh’s old town, after the demolition of the Babri Masjid. His book seeks to make sense of where he grew up and the cycles of violence he regularly witnessed as it tries to demystify religious polarisation and offer a larger commentary on where India finds itself today.
