On 20 December, at about 6 pm, the Delhi Police released water cannons and lathi charged protestors near Delhi Gate and the Daryaganj locality. The crowd was protesting the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, enacted on 12 December. The Caravan spoke to two eyewitnesses, who were injured during the crackdown.
