Justice Lokur says that the central government “wants to have its way” in the appointment of judges, an interference which he says “goes against the Constitution,” which reserves the last word on appointments with the apex court. Justice Lokur further adds that the government is more ambiguous than the collegium in the matter of the appointment of judges, and stresses that the government should resolve matters by talking to the judiciary.
