On 4 July, a panchayat was held by various Hindutva organisations at the Ram Lila ground in Haryana’s Pataudi town. The organisers claimed it was to “raise awareness against love jihad, land jihad and conversions.” Various videos of the panchayat show speakers calling for violence against Muslims.
Correction: Narendra Pahari’s statement that no politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party was at the Pataudi panchayat is incorrect. Suraj Pal Amu, the spokesperson of the Haryana unit of the BJP, was a speaker at the event. A previous version of this video did not include this clarification. The Caravan regrets the error.
